The Taoiseach says March is a very important month for getting Covid-19 numbers down.
597 people with Covid-19 are being treated in public hospitals, the first time the figure has fallen below 600 since January 1st.
Micheal Martin has mooted the possibility of bringing back outdoor activities, sport and relaxing the 5km rule on April 5th if the data allows them to.
The Taoiseach acknowledges the 5 kilometre restriction in particular is very difficult for people.
He says latest figures have been moving in the right direction, and getting back to outdoor activity is important for the mental health of the public.
Meanwhile, the Dáil will today continue a debate on mandatory hotel quarantine, which would affect people arriving from 20 high-risk countries.
