We’re for for some dazzling colours.

Let’s be honest, despite all that’s going on in the world this October has been very pleasant weather wise.

And according to a leading Professor of Botany at Trinity College Dublin, that extra sunlight is going to turn into a particularly pretty Autumn.

Speaking to RTE’s Morning Ireland, Professor of Botany at Trinity College Dublin, Jennifer McElwain said the leaves on our trees are going to really show off some impressive hues in 2020.

She said the length of day sunshine and the absence of stormy weather all have a role to play in how bright the Autumn colours will be.

”We know based on the science, that the colour of leaves is very strongly linked to light levels,” she explained.

”If we had a dull cloudy wet autumn, we would not have such a spectacular display.

”We have had a relatively still autumn with not too many storms. That means the leaves haven’t been whipped off the trees. I think we are going to be looking at intense colour in the next week to two weeks,” she added.

With all that’s going on, we could definitely use some pretty Autumn pictures.
