That’s the message from the HSE as it launches a campaign warning people to keep their skin safe.

11,000 people a year get skin cancer in this country, with exposure one of the main causes.

With the good weather set to continue throughout the long weekend, we’re being urged to make sure we properly protect ourselves.

It comes as Gardaí will be patrolling parks, beaches and beauty spots today to make sure people are sticking to the public health guidelines.

Health officials are also asking people to keep a record of who they’re meeting up with over the bank holiday weekend.

That’ll help contact tracers if someone later tests positive for Covid 19.
