Former Love Island presenter Caroline Flack has died after taking her own life.

The body of the 40 year old was found in her London apartment over the weekend.

The news comes after her boyfriend Lewis Burton shared a sweet snap of the presenter for Valentine’s Day.

She was charged with assaulting Burton in late 2019 and was due to appear in court on March 4.

It’s understood that Burton was not supporting the prosecution with their case.

Earlier this month he defended her on social media and denied they had split, saying:

“Caroline is my girlfriend. Anything else you read is untrue.”

Tributes have poured in from friends and and fans, among them Olly Murs has said his “heart is broken forever”.

The singer, who worked alongside the TV presenter for several years, is among hundreds of celebrities who’ve shared messages online.

Ant and Dec say they’re “devastated”, while Ireland’s Laura Whitmore, who replaced the 40 year-old on Love Island, has tweeted saying she’s trying to find the words but can’t.
