Locate the electric blankets and sort your line up of movies for a night in this weekend, because it’s going to be absolutely baltic.
Met Éireann has revealed what’s in store, and it’s not for the feint hearted.
Tonight will be chilly enough to give us a little taste of what’s in store, with a cool-1 degrees and frost forecast around the country.
But it’s tomorrow night (Friday) where things really kick off… The national forecaster is saying that it will be “very cold”, with a widespread sharp to severe frost under clear skies. Temperatures could drop to a minimum of -4 degrees overnight.
During the day though here will be sunny spells, with occasional scattered showers of rain or hail, some of them wintry, especially on higher ground.
Saturday will be the same as Friday overnight, very cold and frosty with minimum temperatures of -4.
While Sunday might actually be half decent, with dry and sunny spells and light breezes, with maximum afternoon temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.
