Former X Factor Star Janet Devlin Tipped To Represent Ireland at The Eurovision

The Official  announcement for who is representing Ireland this year at the  Eurovision will be done this Friday – the 8th of March.

However, it’s been reported by many sources online  that Former X Factor Star and Tyrone native – Janet Devlin – will be heading to Tel Aviv in May to represent Ireland. Rumours online suggest Una Healy was in talks to represent Ireland in the Eurovision this year will never came to fruition.

Back in 2011, Janet who was only 16 years old when she flew over to the UK to follow her dreams and audition for one of the biggest talent competitions in the world.

According the X Factor description in the lead up to her first audition it stated;

Living in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere has meant that she spends a lot of time on her own, using her songwriting abilities as a form of escapism. She’s not sung in public before due to her lack of confidence, but she’s managed to summon some courage to perform today. One look at the judges’ faces proves that her trip to England wasn’t wasted. Incredibly nervous 16-year-old Janet has flown over from the depths of Ireland to be at her audition. Living in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere has meant that she spends a lot of time on her own, using her songwriting abilities as a form of escapism. When Is The Eurovision Song Contest 2019?

The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will be held at Expo Tel Aviv, the city’s convention centre; the show will consist of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and the final on 18 May 2019.[4]

Forty-one countries will take part in the contest, with Bulgaria and Ukraine absent, both for the first time since 2015.
