We're set to see temperatures as high as 22 degrees later in the week.

The key to enduring a typically gloomy Monday morning is hope that there's some better weather waiting on the horizon...

And mercifully the national forecaster is predicting we could see temperatures as high as 22 degrees by the time Wednesday arrives.

However we won't be in for an Indian summer, with things looking like they'll cool off by the time the weekend rolls around.

According to Met Éireann Tomorrow (Tuesday) will see early morning mist clear to become a dry and calm day, with sunny spells. Highest temperatures will range 15 to 19 degrees Celsius, mildest in the south and southwest.

But it gets better, with temperatures continuing to improve day by day with ''long spells of autumn sunshine'' expected.

We can expect temperatures ranging from 17 to 20 degrees on Wednesday and 18 to 22 degrees on the days thereafter, possibly higher in some parts.

Sadly, Met Éireann is hinting at conditions turning more ''unsettled'' this coming weekend and into next week.

But we'll take whatever we can get!
