Last year’s contest was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Graham Norton has confirmed that this year’s Eurovision will  be going ahead, despite the ongoing pandemic.

According to the chat show host ‘There’s definitely going to be a Eurovision… The competition element is going to happen’.

Graham has been commentating on the UK Eurovision coverage on the BBC for the last number of years.

Speaking to the BBC, contest organisers said ‘We can confirm the Eurovision Song Contest will definitely take place this year.’

They added that there may be pre-recorded elements if acts cannot travel to Rotterdam, or if they have to isolate while there.

Last year’s contest was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Jedward have thrown their names into the hat to represent Ireland in this year’s competition.
