Kildare County Council in association with the Kildare Chamber of Commerce is launching ‘Shop County Kildare’, an online e-commerce platform providing Kildare businesses with the opportunity to make the move to online sales in a free of charge, quick and user-friendly way.

Kildare County Council’s mission is to create hubs for local retailers and businesses to reopen their businesses to the local community. This Kildare hub will curate products and services by town and village.

Whether a business has a website or not, this platform can get businesses back up and running, selling products, vouchers and services within minutes and free of charge.

This is also of benefit to businesses who have already an e-commerce website, as a function on the website allows their products and the businesses itself even greater exposure.

There is no set-up charge or monthly fees to retailers or businesses. Businesses can populate the site with as many products as they wish through the user-friendly backend of the website.

There is however a standard e-commerce administration fee of 5% on all sales to cover the cost of card payments (3%) as well as all hosting, admin and operational costs. COVA Technology, who are behind the platform, will have a rep on hand to support businesses with any queries in getting set up.

Kildare County Council now is calling on Kildare businesses to register for the website before Friday June 20th. The website will go live for consumers in July.
