“I think there was a bit of miscommunication”
Love Island’s Amber Gill has given her first interview since she split from Greg O’Shea.
Greg confirmed the pair had split on The Late Late Show on Friday night and explained that the long-distance and their busy schedules were part of the reasons behind it.
Today the Newcastle lady told Loose Women that ultimately, they ended things over text. She explained:
“From my point of view, I kind of still wanted to make it work, and there was a call a few days prior just chatting, not specifically to do with that,” she said. “But definitely on that day … it was like a text.
“We were texting each other… Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to come and see me, and I just was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to have to give up if you don’t put the effort in’, and then he was like, ‘Okay, bye’.
“I think there was a bit of miscommunication, but I think if you don’t want to be with someone, you don’t want to be with someone.”

Greg and Amber won Love Island in July and chose to share the £50,000 cash prize.
