A new online ordering system is being rolled out.

The HSE is significantly increasing the number of tests it’s carrying out on suspected coronavirus cases today.

A new online system is being rolled out so GPs can order tests for their patients.

The HSE’s assistant national director of public health Dr Kevin Kelleher said health care workers are also going to be tested more regularly.

”What we’re trying to do is identify as many cases as possible of the disease, so we can try and slow down its spread,” he said.

”We’re also trying to ensure that we have staff in key parts of the system particularly the health system.

”So we’re giving a bit of focus to health care workers, as they have to get tested as well.”
