The campaign, called Champion Green, is an effort to ease the pressure of the pandemic on small and local businesses.
Small business owners say the Irish public can help save jobs in their own communities by spending a little extra for the next twelve weeks.
They say this summer will be make-or-break for employers all over Ireland after the lockdown, so trade groups in the sector have launched a plan called Champion Green.
It begins with a simple pledge to support local; it ends with more prosperous communities for us all.

The message of the campaign is that if every adult in the country spends €20 extra locally for the next twelve weeks, it will be an economic boost worth €875,000,000.
The retail sector employs 280,000 people here and the trade groups backing Champion Green say the initiative could ward off major job losses.
