The latest figures on COVID-19 deaths and cases have been announced this evening.
The National Public Health Emergency Team has confirmed a further eight people with COVID-19 have died.
It means the number of deaths in the Republic now stands at 1,658.
NPHET has also announced ten new cases of the virus this evening, so there have been 25,066 confirmed cases here.

Moving out of lockdown
The focus is on progressing through the roadmap of lifting restrictions that were introduced due to the pandemic, with phase two due to start on Monday the 8th of June.
Earlier the government indicated that there was a good chance of us being able to move into phase two as scheduled.
Phase two will see the 5 kilometre limit extended to 20 and up to four people allowed to pay a short visit to another household, while sticking to social distancing.
