Strong gusts will affect Donegal, Galway and Mayo.

A status yellow wind warning has been issued for more than half the country.

Strong gusts will begin to affect Donegal, Galway and Mayo from 1am tomorrow and it'll last until 8 o'clock in the night. Meanwhile, a yellow wind alert for the rest of Connacht, most of Leinster and Cavan and Monaghan will become valid from 6am. It will also last until 8 o'clock tomorrow night.

The rest of the week isn't looking too great either. Here's the full forecast from Met Éireann:

Tonight

It'll be cold and clear early tonight with minimum temperatures of 2 degrees. However, cloud will quickly thicken and outbreaks of rain will spread across the country accompanied by freshening southerly winds and the temperatures will rise overnight with values ranging between 7 to 10 degrees by dawn on Tuesday.

Tuesday

It's set to be windy on Tuesday with strong to gale force southwest winds. Apart from that, the day will be overall dull with scattered outbreaks of rain, heaviest across west and northwest coastal counties. Very mild and humid too with highs of 14 degrees.

Wednesday

A cold and mostly dry start on Wednesday with some bright spells developing. A spell of rain is forecast to move in across southern counties during the day and there'll be highest temperatures of 9 degrees.

Thursday

Current indications suggest an area of low pressure will move close to Ireland on Thursday bringing some rain and the risk of strong winds. A chilly day is forecast with highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Friday

High pressure looks set to lie over Ireland for Friday bringing mostly dry weather conditions and light or moderate breezes. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.
