The Government has pledged 1.6million euro for the zoo sector.
It comes as Dublin Zoo this week warned there is a real risk it may close for good due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions.
The money has been secured by heritage ministers Darragh O'Brien and Malcolm Noonan
Dublin Zoo and Fota Wildlife Park in Cork are in line to share 1.1million euro of the money.
