Baton down the hatches!

A status yellow rainfall warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

The alert will come into effect tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at 3pm, and is set to last for 24 hours.

Met Eireann is forecasting heavy rain with a chance of some localised flooding.

There will also be high seas and gale force winds along the coast.

A spokesman said: "Heavy rain with accumulations of 40-50mm over the period with localised flooding.

"At the coast, high seas and strong to gale force southerly winds will combine to give a risk of coastal flooding.''
