Outdoor attractions like zoos, petting farms and heritage sites are allowed welcome memebers of the public from today.

The maximum attendence allowed at funerals has increased to 25, while outdoor sports like tennis and golf courses can reopen.

Meanwhile, outdoor dining and beer gardens could be allowed from June under the government's plans to ease restrictions.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Ireland with 13 thousand cases reported every year.

The Health Service Executive says melanoma's and non-melanoma skin cancers are expected to become a lot more common in the years ahead.

If you're heading out and about, remember the 5 S's of the SunSmart Campaign -

  1. Slip on clothing that covers your skin, such as long sleeves, collared t-shirts
  2. Slop on sunscreen on exposed areas, using factor 50+ for children
  3. Slap on a wide-brimmed hat
  4. Seek shade - especially if outdoors between 11am and 3pm - and always use a sunshade on a child’s buggy
  5. Slide on sunglasses to protect your eyes.
