A parents group has hit out at a school which says students will be sent home if they’re not wearing the correct uniform.
SPARK Ireland, which supports single parents, says a note was sent out by a school stating flat black shoes must be worn as well as the full uniform, including a jacket.
The note states the school appreciates the challenges this presents given that shops have been closed.
Parenting expert and author Jen Hogan says she’s surprised to see the note, as many schools are being flexible during the pandemic.
With shops closed, many parents have found it hard to buy clothing, particularly shoes, for their growing children.
