Sir David Attenborough has broken Jennifer Anniston’s Instagram record.

The 94-year-old joined the social media platform during the week.

According to the Guinness World Record, he reached 1 million followers in just 4hours 44 minutes.

The previous record was held by Jennifer Anniston.

The Friends star joined last October and hit the million mark in 5 hours 16 minutes.

In his first post, Sir David told fans;

“I am making this move and exploring this new way of communication to me because, as we all know, the world is in trouble.”

“Continents are on fire. Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying. Fish are disappearing from our oceans. The list goes on and on. Saving our planet is now a communications challenge.”
