Met Éireann issues thunderstorm warning for all 32 counties valid later tomorrow

Despite the warning, temperatures of 25 to 28 degrees are still expected in parts.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for the entire island of Ireland.

The warning comes into effect for all 32 counties at 4pm tomorrow (Thursday) and is valid until 9am on Friday.

The naional forecaster said: ''Heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop later on Thursday and Thursday night with some severe downpours, hail and spot flooding. Due to the localised nature of thunderstorms some parts of the country will remain dry''.

Despite the warning, tomorrow will be a warm and sunny day with temperatures ranging from 20 to 24 degrees in the west but up to 25 to 28 degrees in the east. Showers will break out later in the afternoon, with the aforementioned thundery downpours expected.
