Keep your high-fives to yourself… Pete Hegseth claims he hasn’t washed his hands in a decade. Image: Twitter/Fox news

TV presenter Pete Hegseth confessed to NEVER washing his hands live on air.

A Fox News host in the states has grossed his viewers out big time, after he revealed he hasn’t washed his hands in a decade, reports Sky News.

The reason behind this? because he believes “germs are not a real thing”.

On the network’s morning program Fox And Friends, host Pete Hegseth claimed germs don’t exist because they cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Hence why he doesn’t bother washing his hands.

And he even claims his health has improved since he gave up the soap and warm water, claiming it’s a way of “inoculating” himself.

The unsanitary habit emerged after co-host Jedediah Bila revealed how Hegseth had been eating day-old pizza in the studio.

As a New Year’s resolution, Hegseth had vowed to say things on air that he would normally say off air…

It is unclear whether his viewers are grateful with his honesty, after he was labelled “gross” and “disgusting” on Twitter.

Save lives, clean your hands.

Obviously washing your hands is an essential part of stopping the spread of germs and bacteria.

The World Health Organisation recommends that people should spend about 20 seconds washing their hands, or about as long as it takes to sing Happy Birthday.

The WHO also recently launched the Save Lives: Clean Your Hands campaign to encourage healthcare workers to take care of their hand hygiene.

In short, don’t be like Pete.
