Ireland’s Rugby World Cup Chances Could Be Upset By Typhoon Higibis

Irish rugby fans will be anxiously awaiting news on Typhoon Higibis which is currently threatening to derail Ireland’s World Cup hopes.

The storm has meant that the World Rugby organizers have released a warning and  closed fan-zones in Fukuoka and Kumamoto as a precaution, although no matches were affected.

What will happen if Saturday’s match is cancelled?

If the Ireland V Samoa match is cancelled, Rugby World Cup rules state that the match will be declared a draw and as Scotland still have two matches left to play, they could potentially still pose a threat.

Rugby World Cup officials have said they will be issuing a statement on the Typhoon later this afternoon.
