If anyone asks why you haven’t changed your knickers in 21 days, tell them it’s for the environment!
Someone’s invented underwear that doesn’t need washing – for a few weeks, at least.
Danish fashion brand Organic Basics has developed underwear that’s naturally anti-microbial and odour-killing, which means you can go a long time without changing them.
They’re actually not as disgusting as they sound. The Silvertech 2.0 collection is treated with silver chloride, the same material used by NASA to purify the water in the International Space Station.
Organic Basics wants us to wash our clothes less to save water and energy.
It says the fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world, and two-thirds of that waste occurs during consumer use – particularly through washing and drying.
The Kickstarter campaign already has almost 700 backers and has raised over €78,000.
That’s a lot of people who don’t like washing their briefs!
