It was the first weekend that bars were allowed to open in Florida.

A group of friends have all tested positive for the coronavirus after meeting up for a birthday celebration at an Irish pub in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, reports NBC Miami.

Erika Crisp is a healthcare worker and was one of the people who tested positive for the virus after visiting Lynch's Irish Pub.

She told local news station WJXT that after months of staying home and "doing everything the right way", she and her friends decided to go to Lynch's Irish Pub on June 6.

She added that she believed the virus was spread at the bar because the only time the group of friends had been together was "that one night at that one bar.”

"I should have known better. I should have been more cautious. But alas, it is what it is,"Crisp wrote in Facebook post. "I have it, my friends have it, we can give you that info & you can do with it what you will. I encourage everyone to be considerate of others."

The weekend that the group attended the bar was the first weekend that bars were allowed to reopen in most counties in Florida, which has seen a surge in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
