Pharmacies start vaccinating 18-34 year olds today

So far, 4.4 million vaccine doses have been administered.

Pharmacies are due to begin vaccinating people aged 18 to 34 against Covid-19 from today.

120,000 Johnson and Johnson jabs will be distributed to chemists over the next week.

It marks a ramping up of the country's vaccination effort and could lead to all adults being protected against coronavirus as early as the end of August.

People aged 18-34 can receive the one shot jab, meaning they will be fully vaccinated after two weeks.

Over 50% of the adult population will be fully vaccinated by tomorrow, with 4.4 million vaccine doses administered so far.
