Cinemas are set to reopen on Tuesday after the government's announcement yesterday.

Good news for movie buffs or fans of the cinema in general! Irish cinemas will reopen from December 1st, next Tuesday, after a country-wide closure due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The cabinet held a meeting on Friday and approved the easing of restrictions, which included allowing for cinemas to reopen their doors.

It's yet to be determined what changes will be made to the usual movie watching experience. Social distancing and mask wearing are likely a requirement.

But with evenings getting darker - it's the perfect activity to get out of the house.

In terms of new releases to look out for, "A Christmas Carol" starring Martin Freeman and Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya is one for the holiday watching.

"Dreamland", a romantic-crime drama starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Murphy's "The Prom" starring Meryl Streep and James Corden are some other films out in December.
