Electric Picnic announce strict ban on this item ahead of next weekend

The organisers of Electric Picnic have banned disposable vapes from this years festival.

They say they are banning the products "in order to protect the land that the festival site is on", since they are so hard to recycle and can becomes hazardous at waste centres.

Disposable vapes have been added to the list of prohibited items.

Festival goers are being warned that the product may be confiscated on entry.

Taking to Twitter today, EP Festival wrote: "Disposable vapes are made of a mixed compound of materials making them very difficult to recycle and hazardous if not placed in the correct waste stream. 

"Electric Picnic has taken the decision to add single use disposable vapes to the list of prohibited items, in order to protect the land that the festival site is on."

The largest festival in Ireland announced that The Script will perform on the final night for EP.

The Irish band now appear under headliners The Killers in the line-up of the event that kicks off next Friday.

EP took to Instagram with the news writing: "We're beyond excited to welcome @thescriptofficial to the Electric Picnic 'Hall of Fame’".
