Louis Tomlinson is starting an artist management company so he can develop new talent.

The former One Direction star announced his plans on Twitter.

He said he had always wanted to found a record label and help budding artists grow.

In 2015, Tomlinson launched an imprint, which is like a sub-label, of Simon Cowell’s Syco Music called Triple Strings.

But he said he had found it hard to need someone else’s blessing in order to sign artists he liked as sometimes their music didn't fit the "traditional" pop sound.

In the Twitter post, the star said "Watch this space".
