Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch is said to be inheriting the famous 007 digits after James Bond retires.
The Daily Mail claims a scene in the 25th movie, which is currently being shot, will introduce her.
The paper has quoted an anonymous "movie insider" as saying that the actress, previously announced as a co-star of Bond 25, will be taking over Bond's secret agent number after the character leaves MI6.
The source told the publication that the film, due for release next April, opens with Bond, retired in Jamaica, being called back to action to fight a new villain.
They said: "There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, "Come in 007", and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.
"It's a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007."
Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge stepped in to assist with scripting earlier this year.
