'Story of My Life' is a banger!
Dublin woman Lesley Roy has been chosen to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision.
The singer-songwriter, 33, who lives between New York and Ireland will be performing her song 'Story of My Life'.
She will perform at the first semi-final in Rotterdam in the Netherlands on the 12th of May, where she will take on talented performers from across Europe and elsewhere, including Australia.
Speaking about Story Of My Life, which Lesley explained how it became her choice for Eurovision.
‘I had written this song — Story Of My Life — that I was obsessed with and could never figure out what to do with it,’ she told extra.ie.
‘So it was a combination of wanting to share this song that’s also timed with where we are in society right now.
‘I had been thinking about potentially submitting a song for a few years, but this year finally felt like the right time.
‘I feel that for a while now more and more people are speaking up and telling their own story, being vulnerable sharing their own ups and downs and the story of their own life.’
Lesley is originally from Balbriggan in Co Dublin but splits her time between New York and Ireland.
We think she is a brilliant choice for Eurovision!
