Blackrock Diving Tower will also be closed off to the public.

Galway City Council is blocking access to many of the city's public amenities ahead of the expected good weather this Bank Holiday Weekend.

Spanish Arch in the city centre, along with Blackrock Diving Tower, the back of the golf course in Salthill, Lough Rusheen Park the Claddagh Basin, and the car park at Ballyloughane Beach, will all be closed off.

Meanwhile, cars won’t be able to access Silverstrand.

Anyone caught drinking alcohol in public will be asked to surrender it to Gardaí and if they fail to do so a fine will be issued.

RTE reports the decision to re-impose restrictions was taken following ongoing monitoring of crowds and movement across the city in recent days.
