The highest temperatures so far this year are expected over the next three days.

Dry and sunny weather will continue until Thursday but the good weather is expected to change before the weekend. Here's the full forecast for the next few days, according to Met Éireann:

Today

It'll be dry and bright this afternoon with good sunshine and highs of 16 degrees. Tonight will be dry in most areas with some patches of mist or fog with a risk of patchy light rain in the west and north of Connacht and Ulster.

Wednesday

Tomorrow will be mild, bright and dry over much of the country with sunny spells. It'll be cloudier in Connacht and Ulster with some patchy light rain or drizzle and highs of 18 degrees in some parts.

Thursday

On Thursday, it'll be mild, warm and mostly dry with sunny spells. It will become cloudier in Munster and Connacht later in the day but highs throughout the day of 18 degrees. Early on Thursday night, showery rain will develop in the southwest and will spread northwards overnight.

Friday

There'll be a break in the weather on Friday. It's predicted to be mostly cloudy and wet with heavy showers at times. It'll also be mild and humid with highest temperatures of 16 degrees. On Friday night, showery rain will gradually clear from the southern half of the country, but will linger over much of Ulster.

The Weekend

Saturday will start off mostly cloudy with further rain in northern areas. This will clear and through the day, scattered showers will affect many areas with a few bright intervals at times. It will be a bit cooler with highest temperatures of 15 degrees. Sunday will continue mild over the southern half of the country with some showers but it'll be drier and cooler further north. Highs of  17 degrees.
