It's that time of year once more.

The Late Late Toy Show is back this Friday from 9:35pm on RTÉ One.

It's Patrick Kielty's first year at the helm of the iconic toy show and while there's no mention of a theme just yet, it's expected to be jam-packed with lots of magical moments, the odd celebrity appearance and of course, chaos with the kids and toys alike.

It's been a festive staple in Irish households, providing plenty of entertainment over the years. To get you in the mood for tonight, we’ve taken a look back on some of the Toy Show’s most memorable moments:

2014 - Ed Sheeran surprises Aimee

Justin Bieber, Cardi B and Aimee Keogh - they're just some of the people who can say they’ve duetted with Ed Sheeran.

Aimee was lucky to sing alongside the global superstar when she made an appearance on the Toy Show back in 2014. They sang together, had the chats and she managed to bag free tickets for her and her family to one of Ed's gigs in London.

Not a bad Christmas surprise at all!

2009 - John Joe Brennan

John Joe Brennan is probably the first of the toy show kids to instantly have an impact.

In 2009, he stole hearts across the country when he gave an articulate book review and chatted to Tubs about being a horologist.

Let's be honest, a lot of us wouldn't know what a horologist is today if it wasn't for John Joe Brennan.

2003 - Toby meets Girls Aloud

Poor Toby Kane got the shock of his life on the Toy show back in 2003 (which was 20 years ago!).

Toby was showing the host Pat Kenny how to operate a singalong CD player and decided to sing a hit from his favourite girl band, Girls Aloud.

Suddenly, he was interrupted mid-song by Nadine, Cheryl, Sarah, Nicola and Kimberley and was clearly a bit stunned by the whole thing.

2020 - Adam King steals our hearts

Cast your mind back to 2020. It was the height of the Covid pandemic and there was a lot of uncertainty across the country in the lead up to Christmas.

After a long and testing year, adorable Adam King popped up on our TV screens with something we all needed in 2020 - a virtual hug. The Cork native talked about his love of all things space and we watched his face light up when he was surprised on the show by John Doyle, AKA "the nicest hospital porter in Ireland".

2017 - The emotional Family Reunion

This was one that hit us all right in the feels.

Brother and sister Adam and Kayla Burke from County Cork came on as toy reviewers on the 2017 show. At the very end, Ryan asked them to open one final surprise gift.

Their faces lit up with a mix of shock and delight when their dad Sergeant Graham Burke, popped out of the box. Graham was back home from Mali after completing his 6th tour of duty peacekeeping overseas.

We dare you to watch this one without a tear in your eye.
