(Image via pixabay.com)Met Eireann has issued a yellow weather warning for Tuesday, and that's expected to update over the coming hours.
Strong winds and heavy rain have been forecast with damaging gusts possible in the West.
Some flooding is also possible as showers combined with high waves batter the nation.
The warning will come into effect at 6am on Tuesday for 24 hours.

(Image via met.ie)"Through Tuesday and for a time on Wednesday, an Atlantic depression named Storm Barra will bring very strong winds and spells of heavy rain across Ireland.
Winds will be strongest in western coastal counties with severe or damaging gusts possible.
Heavy rain will bring localised flooding. There will also be high waves at sea and a significant possibility of coastal flooding on south and west coasts.
Further warnings will follow."
The general nationwide forecast for Tuesday says there'll be very windy, potentially stormy conditions, and they'll know where it'll be worse in the coming days.
Rain is expected to gradually clear east through the morning, followed, in turn, by sunny spells and scattered squally showers.
While there's a chance of isolated thunderstorms, hail and sleet, heaviest and most frequent in the north and west.
Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
