Anyone dreaming of a white Christmas?

While a white Christmas isn't certain, early predictions reckon we'll get frequent snow this winter.

So, get the snow boots and gloves at the ready for the snowmen and women.

AccuWeather are making some far-off predictions and yano what? We'll take it.

They're predicting stretches of drier weather and settled conditions for Northern Europe.

But the weather forecaster says there's opportunity for prolonged bouts of cold air later in the winter.

It says snow may not come from any individual big storm, but there'll be frequent batches of light to moderate snow.

No word yet for what'll come on Christmas Day but fingers crossed!

We've found that, on average, it snows on Christmas Day about every six years.

The last time it happened was in 2010, so we're well due one at this stage, right!?

Which means we're overdue a White Christmas by about four years - though the longest wait we suffered through was 13 years!

Here's the list of snowy Christmases going back the years: 1964, 1970, 1980, 1993, 1995, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2010.
