Wind warnings remain in place for much of the day

It'll be a gusty Halloween!

Met Éireann has issued yellow-level wind warnings.

It continues from thunderstorm warnings which were in place last night.

A status yellow wind alert for Munster is in place until 2 o'clock this afternoon.

From midday, a yellow alert for wind is also in place for counties Galway and Mayo.

That will be in effect until 10 o'clock tonight.

Met Eireann is warning gusts could reach over 90 to 110 kilometres per hour along coasts and exposed hills in Munster and west Connacht.

Here's the full forecast for today and tonight:

Vvery windy in Munster and Connacht with strong, gusty west to northwest winds with some severe or damaging gusts along on along the west coast and on exposed hills.

Winds will strengthen in south Leinster also.

Heavy showers in Munster and west Connacht will extend to most areas through the afternoon and evening.

And highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Tonight then, west to northwest winds will continue strong and gusty in the north, with gales along northwest coasts.

There'll be scattered showers across the country with some longer spells of rain, especially in Ulster.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.
