Lola Montez, Sligo's biggest club is turning 30! So to celebrate, we're looking at some of the biggest club tunes from the past three decades.
Since 1989 Lola Montez's (formerly Toffs) has been the number one club in Sligo and 2019 marks it's 30th birthday.
So to celebrate this iconic club turning the big 30, we thought we'd take take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the absolute tunes that have filled it's walls over the years.
Before we get started though, it would be remiss not to mention the fact that to mark their 30th Lola's are throwing one of the biggest Xmas party's Sligo has ever seen.
On Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of December the dance floor will be packed out as veterans of the Toffs of old and the lovers of new Lola Montez come together for two epic nights.
iRadio's DJ Dave Duke will be on decks on the Friday night, and the resident DJ will take back control on the Saturday.
Plus there'll also be some class Xmas gifts for some lucky party goers including tickets to Picture This - this is a must go party. And you can guarantee a few of these absolute bangers will get a run, so without further adieu lets begin:
10. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas
The Black Eyed Peas were astronomical towards the end of the noughties and they absolutely nailed it with this one.
9. Galway Girl - Mundy
When this one comes on, you know the next two or so minutes is going to be frantic.
8. When you're looking like that - Westlife
We're leaning to wards cheesy songs here, and it doesn't get any more cheese-tastic than the lads from Westlife.
7. Faithless - Insomnia
This is the kind of song that just makes it's way into your actual DNA.
6. Paris to Berlin
This one never fails to get the dance floor to start pumping for love, pumping for love...sorry we couldn't resist.
5. C'est la vie - B*Witched
Cue drunken Irish dancing at 3am in the morning.
4. Put 'em Under Pressure
Is there a bigger rallying cry for Irish people than the call to join Jackie's army?!
3. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
Open up my eaaaaaaager eyes! I don't think we need to say more.
2. Sandstorm - Darude
This song is so good that it should have it's own genre, just for it.
1. Maniac 2000 - Mark McCabe
The one, the only...the national anthem. Try and find an empty spot on the dance floor when this one comes on, you can't.
