A lobster in County Mayo has received a thank you letter from Michael D Higgins' office.
Charlie the White Lobster and his carer at Achill Experience, Aquarium and Visitor Centre in Mayo, Caragh McGinty, wrote a letter to the President about the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to The Irish Sun, Charlie's letter thanked the "dedicated and hardworking superhero aquarium team" who've taken great care of him during the pandemic.
Their letter said:
"While they take care of us fish folk every day of the year, it is the passion, devotion and selflessness they have shown for our wellbeing during this human emergency that has struck me."
"I sometimes think our human friends don't realise how grateful we animals are for all that they do, particularly now more than ever."
The letter from Charlie the Lobster also thanked the front line workers and aquarium workers.

Meanwhile, the letter Charlie got back from the President's office read:
"Your kind message of support is greatly appreciated by the President and he has asked me to convey his sincere thanks.
"The President sends his best wishes to you all at the Achill Experience, Aquarium and Visitor Centre and hopes that you are all staying safe."
