“It’s giving me anxiety”.

Gardaí have had to be called to a number of the six McDonald's outlets which reopened in Dublin today.

The fast food chain has recommenced drive-thru services located in its Artane, Malahide Road, TallaghtNutgrove, Kylemore Road and East Wall branches.

And judging by the videos circulating on social media, people are pumped the golden arches are back.

According to McDonald’s, the drive-thru services are due to run from 11am to 10pm every night.

There is also a number of changes to restaurants, including:

  • Capped spend in Drive Thrus at €30 per car
  • Customers are encouraged to pay by contactless payment methods wherever possible
  • Perspex screens at Drive Thru windows and employees wearing protective equipment
  • All McDonald’s employees will be asked to confirm they are fit and able to work, and contactless thermometers will be used to take employee temperatures upon arrival at work for every shift.
  • Social distancing has been introduced in the kitchens and service areas
  • Restaurants will return with smaller teams, offering a limited menu*.
