Time is running out.

Pub owners are worried plans to modernise our licensing laws could be shelved.

The proposed changes would allow bars and nightclubs to stay open for later. Despite repeated promises, these legislations haven't been published.

Donall O'Keeffe from Licensed Vintners' Association says the clock is running out on the current government's ability to get the new rules over the line.

O'Keeffe said the LVA "don't understand the reluctance" around publishing the new legislation.

He said: "We are urging them to push ahead and publish it. We want to get it active within the lifetime of this government".
