Probably not the best week to be making plans.
If you thought the weather was going to take a turn for the better after Storm Dennis, think again.
This week is set to be a mix of windy, wet and grey weather. Delightful.
Here's the full national forecast for this week, according to Met Éireann:
Monday night
Scattered showers will continue overnight, leading to longer spells of rain later with the risk of some wintry falls on higher ground. It'll be cold and breezy with minimum temperatures of 0 degrees and some frost possible in sheltered areas.
Tuesday
It'll be another cold and blustery day on Tuesday. In the morning, there'll be widespread showers with a bit more drier brighter weather in the afternoon. However the dry weather won't stick around for long. Scattered showers will follow with the ongoing risk of hail and thunder and lows of -1 degrees on Tuesday night and a high risk of frost.
Wednesday
The rain will extend northeastwards across the country during Wednesday morning along with freshen southerly winds. We can expect heavy rainfall across in parts of the west and north with a risk of spot flooding. There'll be more outbreaks of rain on Wednesday night, heaviest across the western half of the country with lows of 1 degree.
Thursday
Thursday looks to be the best day of the week. The heavy rain will clear quickly on Thursday morning with sunny spells and scattered showers following from the west. It's predicted to be a cold day with highest temperatures of 5 degrees. There'll be a mix of clear spells and well-scattered showers early on Thursday night but it is expected to turn breezy later with lows of 2 degrees.
Friday
Friday is set to be a wet day with spells of rain, heavy in places with a renewed risk of spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 12 degrees.
Weekend
At the moment, it looks like we'll see a continuation of unsettled weather with showers or longer spells of rain over the weekend.
