Meet Peter the robin.

He oversees proceedings, greets customers on the till and constantly promotes the plants and flowers on the company's Instagram. Like every other employee, Peter has two legs and two eyes. However, he also has a beak and a fine singing voice too.
Pergola Nurseries in Virginia has been in business for over 30 years and now, they're picking up a massive audience on social media thanks to Peter the robin. Peter often appears in videos on Pergola Nurseries' social media channels alongside the owner, Donal McEvoy.
Donal told Sharron on iRL how Peter became a massive part of the nursery:
"I suppose, we've always had a robin, or a Peter Robin around us, but things have changed for the difference really"
"Instagram, of course, has introduced our little robin to to a bigger audience".
With no small thanks to Peter, Pergola Nurseries has already got over 12,000 followers on Instagram and over 6,000 likes on Facebook.
But what does Peter do about the place?
Donal told iRadio all about it:
"He [Peter] gets a little breakfast of some mealworms and cheese, and maybe a little bit of bread, and that sets him up"
"He'll sing and hop around and move into position, and of course he's a great man to promote an awful lot of our plants here in Pergola Nursery.
"I'd say every day, at least 25% of people coming in would ask for Peter".
