Wintry showers, mainly of hail and sleet, are being forecast.
The national forecatser has stated: ''Wintry showers, mainly of hail and sleet, will become increasingly widespread during Tuesday leading to icy patches. Some snow accumulations will also occur''.
Unfortunately it looks like the bitter conditions have no intention of leaving any time soon.
Things are set to remain unsettled until the end of the week and the weekend, with a risk of further wintry precipitation and with a risk of frost at night.
Heavy blankets people, and lots of them.
