Trip West once lock down ends?
County Galway has been named as the top destination for Irish people to take a staycation this year, according to a survey of 500 people.
The research was carried out by sustainable Irish Backpack company SunDrift, with 90% of respondents saying they plan to travel more within the country once lock down ends.
When it came down to the most popular spots to stay in the country, Galway topped the list.
While Co Kerry came second, and Co. Wexford third, other counties proving popular are Cork, Donegal and Sligo.
It also found the most favoured choice of activity for the first weekend away is visiting friends.
