People in Ireland are being invited to become virtual housemates in the upcoming interactive Big Brother mobile game.

Before being launched worldwide later this year, the app is being released in Ireland only on the 28th of May and will run into the middle of July.

A development studio called 9th Impact in Galway has teamed up with Endemol to produce the virtual game. According to their website, players will become virtual housemates in the game. They'll experience life as a Big Brother contestant and must make careful decisions in order to remain in the house and ultimately, take home the cash prize.

It'll be called, Big Brother The Game, and will have two different modes - a Housemate and Spectator mode. The app will be free to download and the spectator mode is also free, unless you want to purchase some optional extras.

Meanwhile, the Housemate mode is accessed using a token which will be an in-app purchase.

Before it's launched across the world though, they want Irish people to test it out. Mark Quick, CEO of 9th Impact explained how it'll work:

"For the couple of weeks that we're going to be running this, it'll only be Irish people in the house.

You'll be getting to know eight other people around the country and then you'll have to vote and nominate them and evict them and once it gets down to the final, there's a €5000 real cash prize to be won at the end of this."

Big Brother: The Game is set to launch later this year on both Apple and Android devices.
