The Crown has finally chosen their Prince Philip for the final two seasons.

According to Variety, Jonathon Pryce will be playing the Queen's husband in the popular series.

The 73-year-old is best known for playing High Sparrow in Game of Thrones.

Pryce will be starring alongside Imelda Staunton, who will take over from Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth.

Actress Lesley Manville will be replacing Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

The news comes just one month after The Crown show-runner Peter Morgan confirmed the sixth season would be the last.

"As we started to discuss the story lines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons," he said.

"To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day - it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail," he added.

Season 4 of the Emmy nominated hit is set to land later this year, although an exact date has not been announced.
