The status yellow snow and ice warning has been in place since last Tuesday.

As you're probably well aware, it's quite chilly outside at the moment!

And unfortunately the cold weather isn't planning on leaving any time soon... As a result, Met Éireann has officially extended its snow-ice weather warning nationwide until Sunday afternoon.

Conditions will remain very cold with severe frost and ice expected in midland and eastern areas on untreated surfaces on Saturday morning and during the night.

Some snow showers are expected, mostly confined to northern and northwestern areas, while snow is anticipated mainly on higher ground in the north and northeast on Saturday night.

Due to the conditions AA Roadwatch is urging motorists to take extreme caution while driving in icy conditions.
