THE ALEX AND ALEXANDRA FALL OUT CONTINUES

Having stunned his fellow Islanders by calling off his relationship with Alexandra so close to the final, the ramifications of Alex’s decision continue, with Alexandra bluntly refusing to speak to the forlorn doctor.

Both take time apart from each other as they reflect on the unexpected turn of events.

Alex tells some of the islanders:

“She wouldn’t let me speak. Maybe I’m not perfect, I really have tried. I really didn’t want to string her along, or be unfair to anyone else in the villa, or play any games, or pretend to be anything I wasn’t. I’ve come here to find someone, to find love, I felt like she was the perfect person for me and I’m devastated that it’s not worked out. I’m gutted, I’m back to square one.”

Venting her fury to Laura and Josh, Alexandra rages:

“He chose to recouple with me. That wasn’t my decision. I was shocked when he recoupled with me because I thought he fancied (new) Laura. And then the Lie Detector thing. Would rather recouple? He said no. It came back a lie. I just feel like I’ve been lied to. Maybe you guys think differently, but I’ve given chances, and I’ve tried to be understanding. I just feel like I’m not having that reciprocated and it’s not fair.”

Insisting his decision was made with the best of intentions, Alex continues:

“She’s beautiful, she’s really nice, she’s funny, she’s got everything. It’s not my fault. You can’t make that feeling, you can’t force that. What she wants and probably deserves I can’t give her. I can’t go at the level she wants to be in. I could literally try and get to the final by pretending but I’m not doing that. It’s not right.”

Still completely confused by how things have played out, Alexandra tells Josh and Laura she is not prepared to give Alex any further chances:

“Everything’s been so vague, like ‘I’m just really enjoying our time together, we’re just taking things slow, let’s not compare ourselves.’ Now I just feel like all that’s been an excuse because he doesn’t like me enough. He doesn’t genuinely feel strongly enough about me. Even though we’re not at that stage of ‘we’re going to be exclusive when we come out’, the guy can’t even bring himself to hold my hand. It’s just displays of affection that you care, and I’ve not had one single ounce of that. That is a problem. And I’ve made up so many excuses for the situation because I like the boy. It’s hurtful.”

Resigned to being single again in the villa, Alexandra tells the Beach Hut:

“I’ve tried and I’ve tried, and you know what, I should have just seen the warning signs from the beginning.”

The following morning, Alex awakens eager to clear the air with Alexandra. With their heated exchange still hanging over his head, he informs Jack:

“I think I just need to speak to her this morning and check she’s alright. Because the thing is we get on really well. I honestly think we’ll be really good friends. She has a laugh, she gets my humour. We’ll be good friends, it’ll be a real shame not to.”

Alexandra however is no frame of mind for forgiveness, declaring to the girls:

“I’m just not ready to talk to him right now. I’m literally not.”

Summarising the mood in the villa, Alexandra tells the Beach Hut:

“It is going to be a little bit awkward between Alex and I today. I definitely need some space. I don’t really want to be around him at the moment. There’s no real coming back from this, I can see that. I’ve just got to move forward in a positive way.”

As Alexandra sits by the pool speaking to Kaz about the situation, Alex wonders over, but Alexandra is quick to spurn any attempt at a reconciliation.

Alex - “Alex, can I have a chat?”

Alexandra - “I don’t really feel like talking right now to be honest.”

Alex - “When do you want to chat, later?”

Alexandra - “Just a few hours.”

It’s not until the evening that Alex and Alexandra finally take a moment to talk through things, and Alexandra seizes her opportunity to pinpoint Alex’s failings:

“As a female, you can’t help but think that things are progressing in a certain direction, and maybe we are more emotional characters. I just need you to know that because obviously it hasn’t worked out with us, but maybe in the future just be cautious of that. The things that you said to me yesterday on our date, that you’d like to continue dating me on the outside, and just thing s that you were saying, maybe led me on a little bit if you were feeling doubtful. A girl really holds onto things that guys say, and we believe every word of it.”

Can the pair put the past behind them and end their villa experience in a better place?

MEGAN AND WES TAKE THE NEXT BIG STEP ON THEIR EPIC DATE

Megan and Wes get the epic date treatment when they depart the villa for a romantic afternoon aboard a luxury yacht. And as they look ahead to a life together outside of the Love Island villa, Megan opens up about how she has changed with Wes.

News of the date arrives via text, sparking much anticipation throughout the villa:

Megan and Wes, it’s time for your final date. Please get ready to leave the villa
#loveboat #plainsailing

The girls set about giving Megan the full on glam treatment, with Megan beaming:

“I feel like Mariah Carey right now.”

Arriving on the date, it’s not long before Wes is showing Megan his sentimental side:

“You can’t truly feel 100% happy until you are starting to fall in love and you are starting to love someone. I’ve definitely found the right person. As much as I say it, my Love Island experience did definitely not start until we were coupled up and we started seeing each other.”

Megan too gets emotional as she reflects on what her Love Island journey has taught her:

“Because I’ve been hurt so much in the past, I didn’t rate myself. The job’s I’ve had I’ve been put down for, and people have a certain perception of someone who has been a dancer or a glamour model. I just thought ‘what have I got to give someone? Especially someone like you, on the outside world, I’d never speak to someone like you. You’ve got a good job. You’re intelligent. Everything you do you’re amazing at. I always put myself down. But in here I feel like I have come so far and I’ve learned to love myself a little bit.”

Wes offers Megan further assurances on how she has changed as a person in their weeks together:

“You can see it though. You’ve seen that you’ve learnt a lot about yourself. The way that you talk, your mannerisms, the way you hold yourself, it is so good to see, you’ve come so far.”

Honouring the part Wes has played in her transformation, Megan declares:

“I couldn’t have done it without you, you have helped me so much in here. It’s taken me a long time but finally now I’ve met you, I realise that people like me for me and you’ve definitely fallen in love with the real Megan.”

Happy to have silenced their critics and those that speculated they wouldn’t last, Megan admits:

“I honestly didn’t expect to be here in the final week with you. I think so many people doubted us in the villa, outside. I think we’ve been the underdogs the whole time but I think the last two weeks we’ve really shown everyone in the villa how much we mean to each other, they can see it’s genuine. I’m so excited for the future.”

FIRST QUARREL AND L WORD JOY FOR JOSH AND KAZ

They’ve enjoyed a harmonious existence over their weeks in the villa, but Josh and Kaz have their first clash after a comment by Josh about how girls present themselves receives a backlash from both Kaz and some of their fellow Islanders.

Elaborating further in the Beach Hut, Kaz insists Josh apologises for his remarks:

“Josh definitely needs to come to me with an apology and reasons behind why he made that comment. I feel a bit insecure now. I’m not going to lie. Also, I would like a lot of compliments today when I go to bed in his boxers and T shirt.”

As the grovelling process begins, Josh tries to explain his comments:

“When you’re in bed in my boxers and T shirt, it’s like my favourite look. Genuinely I think ‘how does she look better in the morning having woken up six minutes ago?’ You know I think you’re beautiful, I think you’re unreal. Make up, no make up, bikini, dress, T shirt. You could be in a binbag and still look unreal. I’m not saying that you I need you to wear make up to bed, that’s not the vibe at all. You know I think you’re stunning.”

Kaz then asks:

“So you take the comment back?”

Fortunately the spirits are lifted when a text arrives revealing details of their epic date:

Kaz and Josh, it’s time for your final date. Please get ready to leave the villa
#lastbutnotleast #showtime

Arriving at their secret location, Josh and Kaz are bowled over when they are presented with an intimate dinner for date, complete with a giant water feature, candles, a pianist and trapeze artists.

Josh proclaims:

“This is the most romantic place I’ve ever been to in my life.”

He later tells the Beach Hut:

“There’s nothing more I could have asked for. Honestly, it was the best date I’ve ever been on in my life.”

As they talk through their time together, Josh gushes:

“Looking back at it, now we’ve come very close to the end. When I walked in, I didn’t really expect to find somebody that I cared about this much. You came through the door. Before you even spoke I was like ‘oh gosh, why am I feeling this way? Should I be this excited’?”

Asserting his commitment towards Kaz, Josh tells her:

“I’ve told you a million times you’re unbelievable and I don’t think there is anyone on this planet that could walk into my life and even trouble me. My head is not turning. It’s locked.”

Finally summoning the courage to open up about his feelings, Josh reveals:

“I can’t deny it, I didn’t want to say it too quick but I am definitely falling in love with you.”

Expressing his relief in the Beach Hut, Josh says:

“Saying ‘I love you’ today was just like a weight off my chest. It felt like I’d been holding it in, and to know that I didn’t need to anymore and that I could really express my true feelings towards her, it was something else.”

Will Kaz reciprocate Josh’s grand gesture?

A TWIST NO ONE SEES COMING….

With the final just days away, the Islanders are left dumbstruck when a surprise twist leaves each couple faced with voting to dump a couple from the island.

A text arrives breaking the bombshell news:

Islanders, tonight each couple will secretly vote for one couple that they think should be dumped from the island. You must now discuss in your couples who you are going to choose and why, before submitting your decision via text. You must not discuss your decision with anyone else. The couples with the most votes face being dumped from the island #thefinalcountdown

Each of the couples then breaks away to decide on who they think should pack their bags.

Josh tells Kaz:

“Let’s just go through it couple by couple, and the pros and cons of each I guess.”

As Paul and Laura agonise over their decision, Paul states:

“There’s so many variables with this.”

But which Love Island couple is about to miss out on a place in the final?
