It’s the day die hard Love Island fans have been waiting for as the Islanders are woken by a chorus of screams from six baby dolls ready to test their relationships to the max.

The couples must all quickly find their feet as new parents as they tend to their baby’s every need, from regular feeds to nappy changes.

Jack is instantly perplexed by how loud the babies are crying and complains in the Beach Hut:

“It’s deafening, it goes through you. It goes through your head. It’s like someone’s just got a pool cue and stuck it straight through your ear holes.”

Unfortunately the babies aren’t a bundle of joy for all the Islanders.

Alex protests to Jack:

“The thought of having a child gives me palpitations.”

Dani meanwhile squeals with the delight:

“Let’s go and see our baby, we made a baby!”

New Jack is also eager to prove his parenting prowess, as he remarks:

“I love the fact that there’s loads of babies around. Obviously they’re crying a lot, as babies do, they need to be changed, they need to be fed, but that’s what it’s all about.”

Each couple quickly sets about naming their new child, with the Islanders’ offspring named as follows:

Wes and Megan’s daughter is called Mia Ruby Nelson
Paul and Laura’s daughter is called Arabella Knops
Alex and Alexandra’s daughter is called Ella Louise George
Jack and Laura’s son (who they later find out while doing a nappy change is in fact a daughter) is called Aubrey Crane Fowler
Josh and Kazimir’s son is called Prince Kavana Joshua Denzel
Jack and Dani’s daughter is called Kimberley Flo Fincham

The names also generate some dispute amongst the couples. With Jack and Dani agreed on Kimberley, Dani declares:

“We call her Kiki?”

A less than impressed Jack responds:

“Do we?”

Dani replies:

“I do.”

But Jack is adamant Kiki is a no go:

“Kiki…no, let’s not call her Kiki.”

Dani hits back:

“I am…that’s her nickname.”

Once again Jack stands his ground:

“No she’s called Kimberley now. You’ve gone with Kimberley.”

JOSH AND MEGAN STRUGGLE TO ADAPT TO PARENTING

Not all of the Islanders are bowled over by their babies, as both Josh and Megan vocalise their distress at playing parents for the day.

With his son, Prince, crying the villa down for most of the morning, a frustrated Josh vents:

“How have I got a headache already? I’ve not had one headache since I’ve been here. A baby comes along and I’ve got a booming headache. Keep the babies as far away from me as possible, especially when they cry.”

Megan also moans in the Beach Hut:

“I did not expect parenthood to be this hard. I can barely look after myself at 24, let alone a new-born baby.”

Kaz pulls Josh up on his neglect of Prince, telling him:

“I’m really enjoying it, I’m so happy. You’ve been running away, I don’t think you’ve held him once.”

Josh protests:

“I’ve held him a few times. It’s just he cries, a lot.”

But Kaz is unimpressed and labels him “an absent father.”

Talking to the Beach Hut, Josh admits he’s struggling with the responsibilities:

“I don’t know how people do it, it’s literally been half a day, and I’m a broken man.”

The situation is only about to get worse for Josh when a text arrives informing the girls that there are relieved of their mothering roles for the afternoon:

Girls, it’s time to have a well-earned break while the boys stay at home with the babies. Please get ready to leave the villa #milfsontour #dadsonduty

For Wes, who has arguably devoted more time to baby Mia than Megan, he is baffled by the girls’ sudden reward:

“I have put my heart and soul into baby Mia. And they’ve been rewarded, what have I done wrong?”

With the boys rallying together to prove that they can cope in the girls’ absence, Wes renames the Do Bits Society:

“The DBS Society has become The Daddy Daycare Society.”

With the girls all discussing their boys and their babies, Megan admits that Wes has slowly taught her to embrace motherhood:

“It’s attractive to see that sensitive side of guys, you don’t normally see it. Wes is so natural with her, I’m like ‘oh my God, you’re so cute, look at you.”

Kaz meanwhile shares her woes with the girls as she complains about Josh’s distance with the baby:

“I have to say, I don’t feel the same as any of you. Since the day little Prince came into my life, Josh gave him his name, dressed him and then ran a mile. I’ve been looking after the baby all day. There’s no father bond there.”

When the girls do return to the villa, Megan admits Wes’ parenting skills have been a pleasant surprise:

“I was a terrible mum. You really did surprise me. I thought being younger you would be just silly about it, like ‘Meg, here you go, you deal with that.’ But you really shocked me, you were better than me.”

Megan also confesses that the experience has made her realise she is by no means ready for motherhood:

“Whatever age I was thinking, which was probably like 27, I feel like add another five on after today. 100%. I’m just not ready yet. But don’t think I’m not wife material, I’m not mother material. I am only 24. One day, I’ll get there. Just not now.”

BABY BRINGS DANI AND JACK CLOSER TOGETHER

After some initial protestations, Jack quickly revels in his new role as father, and the experience of co-parenting only brings him and Dani closer together after their rift over the lie detector test earlier in the week.

Content as he cradles baby Kimberley in his arms, Jack reveals:

“This is actually like being in the future. I’m sorry this is actually like being in the actual future. Mate, I can’t wait to take her down the park and that. Strolling through the park.”

Dani then poses a big question:

“Would you want a baby with me?”

Without hesitation, Jack responds:

“Yeah. I said that already. Not now, maybe when I’m about 30 odd. I think we’re going to be really good parents, don’t you?”

As they open up about their views on parenting, Jack tells Dani what sort of father he plans to be:

“When I’ve actually got a kid, I want to be a really fun parent. I want to do so much fun stuff. They’re never going to want for anything. We’re going to be proper stable. They’re always going to have what they want. I want them to be so polite. I think being polite’s so important.”

Dani also admits she’s keen to emulate the relationship she has with her own mother:

“I want her to just be able to tell me everything. How I am with my mum. I want her to be able to do whatever she’s done, be able to confide in me, and for me to always be able to give her the right advice. My mum is strict. And she’s like my best mate.”

In the Beach Hut, Dani expresses her delight at how Jack has adapted to parenthood:

“He’s brilliant with her. I feel like I love him more. I can’t believe it. He really loves that baby. This morning he wasn’t warming to her as much as I wanted him to do, and now he doesn’t leave her alone. He really loves her.”

When the girls go out for the afternoon, Dani tells them:

“Jack’s definitely warmed up. This morning he was just like bickering with me about it. He was going ‘I don’t know what to do when she’s crying, you can deal with her when she’s crying, you can have her.’ But now, he’s dad of the year. It’s nice, it makes you fancy them I think when they’re good with a baby.”

Left holding the baby, and watching on as Josh and Alex struggle with their own offspring, Jack declares:

“I think we’re super dads mate.”

Laura is also pleased by Paul’s response in the baby challenge, and tells the girls:

“Paul has proper surprised me. He is amazing. I do feel like it’s brought us closer together. It’s so attractive for me to hear a guy literally be like ‘I really want to have a family, what do you think of this name and that name.’ We were literally talking about the babies’ names yesterday.”

ALEX OPENS THE LOVE ISLAND POST NATAL CLINIC

Having a qualified doctor in the villa pays off for the Islanders throughout the challenge when Alex decides to offer one on one health checks on all of the new babies.

Discussing his new service in the Beach Hut, Alex reveals:

“I’ve had a very busy morning, I’ve had six health checks to do. I had to do the first baby check for all of the babies in the villa so I’ve been very busy this morning, very, very busy.”

His services don’t go unnoticed, with Dani declaring:

“You know what, it’s lucky that we’ve got Dr Alex with us. If we feel like there’s ever any issues, we can go to him.”

Sadly, like Josh and Megan, Alex is also a less than perfect first time father.

When Alexandra states that she is broody, he is quick to shut her down:

“Absolutely not. I didn’t do paediatrics for a reason, and the crying and screaming is why.”

SHOCK DUMPING ALERT

The couples are about to go from six to five with another surprise dumping sending shockwaves around the villa.

As the Islanders celebrate winning the challenge, a text arrives to interrupt the proceedings:

Islanders, please gather round the fire pit immediately.

With the Islanders taking their places, further instructions arrive:

The public have been voting for their favourite couple. The couple with the fewest votes will be dumped from the island tonight.

Three couples find out they are most at risk, before the couple with the fewest votes learns their fate.

Who is about to fall as the Islanders reach the final hurdle?

Love Island, tonight at 9pm on 3e.
