Game of Thrones creator confirms new TV series will be filmed in Limerick

Games of Thrones is sadly coming to an end, but we'll soon have a new fantasy series to look forward to.

A new show from Game Of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is coming to Netflix next year, and it's going to be filmed in lovely Limerick!

Martin has confirmed that 10 episodes of Nightflyers will be shot at the new Troy Studios in Limerick City.

The show will be based on his horror novel of the same name, which was published back in 1980.

Here's hoping it benefits the local economy.

Game of Thrones created hundreds of jobs in Northern Ireland and generated an estimated €170 million to the local economy.
